Hidden Truths

Hidden Truths a group exhibition opened in January 2021 at PeterStreets’ Hidden Gallery. 14 artists and 4 film makers were selected to share work that displays their hidden truths that expresses self discovery, unveiling a creative's transparency of shadow work and self revelations uprooted during 2020. the show proposed the question, How did you deal with your mental health? How do you define Shadow work?

Although many have thrived during this ongoing pandemic, it is important to focus on what helped us survive through the dark spaces that we find ourselves in at times. Topics covering soul care and healing, impostor syndrome, the journey of discovering how to forgive and hold ourselves accountable for our toxic behaviors. Instead running from these thoughts, the challenge is for artists to focus and explore conceptual art in various mediums that will create work that is impactful and truthful. Dig deep to uproot old habits , beliefs and old ideas. As we continue to retain our subconscious minds at a soul level, we learn to control our emotions and install new information through Art therapy. Art is meditation. Art is prayer.
